Dana Millen

Contemporary Abstract Artist
Dana Millen, MPH, PhD, is a contemporary abstract artist whose work is shaped by a lifelong spirit of learning, exploration, and creative discovery. A former public health community organizer and social psychologist, she has lived in New Mexico for over 30 years.

An artist since childhood, Dana's creative vision has been influenced by living abroad with her parents in West Africa and Colombia, as well as continued travels throughout Mexico and parts of Europe. These experiences, as well as life in New Mexico, continue to inspire the sense of movement, intuition, and emotional depth found throughout her work.

Dana finds both inspiration and fulfillment through the expressive world of abstract art. Working in acrylic and oil paint, as well as mixed media and collage, she uses brushes, scrapers, palette knives, and markers to create bold, intuitive compositions rich with color, emotion, energy, and personal discovery. Through both appreciating and creating art, Dana channels her creative spirit into works that celebrate exploration, spontaneity, and the transformative power of visual expression.
